Robin Finck Opens Online Shop to Sell About 200 Items From His Guitar Collection

Robin Finck, the guitarist who has played with Nine Inch Nails and Guns N' Roses, is selling part of his gear through his own online shop, which opens on 11 November. Rolling Stone reported the plan on 4 November. The Official Robin Finck Reverb Shop will offer some 200 items.
Reverb is an online marketplace where musicians buy and sell used and vintage instruments and equipment. Finck is selling the items directly rather than running an auction, so each one is sold outright to a buyer.
The shop listings draw on a long working life. Finck joined Nine Inch Nails in 1994, and the only guitar he had with him at the time was a translucent white 1990 Gibson Les Paul Custom. Gibson's Les Paul is one of the best-known electric guitar models, and a Custom is its more heavily finished version.
Another instrument, a Gibson Les Paul '60 Reissue Goldtop nicknamed "Old Gold", was played at Nine Inch Nails' Woodstock '94 performance. It also appears in the video for "March of the Pigs" and on the band's Self Destruct tour. Finck played it on every Nine Inch Nails tour he took part in through 2014.
Reverb's preview of the shop adds a second Gibson, a '57 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue, which was played on every live version of "March of the Pigs" with the band from 2008 to 2018.
Some of the gear has more unusual stories. Finck played a Fano Alt de Facto PX6 guitar with Nine Inch Nails when the band's scene was filmed for the television series Twin Peaks: The Return. Among the pedals being sold is a DOD FX25 Envelope Filter, an effects unit that changes the sound according to how hard the player strikes the strings. Finck used that pedal to record Guns N' Roses' song "Better".
A 1996 Gibson Les Paul Custom, which Finck played on tour with Nine Inch Nails in 2008 and 2009, is also listed on Reverb. The listing notes that he smashed the instrument at the Los Angeles Forum.
Finck has also been on camera about his guitars before. GuitarWorld presented an exclusive premiere of an episode of Ernie Ball's String Theory series that starred him.
For buyers, the date to note is 11 November, when the shop opens. For Finck, it is a chance to hand on instruments that have been on stage, in studios and on screen for more than thirty years.
