The developer team released beta 3 around mid-July 2026, two weeks after the previous version (9to5Mac). Apple's developer portal now lists the release notes for beta 3, and Xcode 27 — the toolkit engineers use to build software for Apple devices — is bundled with the macOS 27 SDK and includes Swift 6.4 along with SDKs for the new versions of iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, watchOS, and visionOS (Apple Developer).
What Changed: Polish Over Overhaul
The headline for Golden Gate is restraint rather than a major redesign.
