Nicki Minaj has publicly doubled down on her support for Donald Trump after the midterm results, and most of the candidates she endorsed lost. In a 15-point post on X, she wrote "Trump is STILL your PRESIDENT," according to Rolling Stone.

The midterm elections are the nationwide votes held halfway through a US president's four-year term. Minaj had campaigned for Republicans ahead of them, appearing at White House events and on the campaign trail alongside Trump.

The results were hard on the candidates she backed. Rolling Stone reported that Republican Mike Rogers lost to Democrat Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan. In New York, Republican Bruce Blakeman lost to incumbent Kathy Hochul in the governor's race. In Michigan's governor's race, Republican John James lost to Democrat Jocelyn Benson.

One of her picks did win. Byron Donalds took the Florida governor's race, the only success among the candidates she had endorsed, the same report said.

A fact-checking site, Snopes, looked at the claim that every Republican Minaj endorsed had lost to a Democrat. It rated the claim "Mixture," the site's label for statements that are partly true and partly false. The rating reflects the Donalds result, which the claim leaves out.

Newsweek reported that Laura Loomer, a conservative commentator, sounded the alarm over the Republican losses in the midterms at the same time Minaj backed Trump. Loomer's comments were a response to the results, not a separate event.

Endorsements from celebrities rarely decide close races, and the results here came in across several states with different candidates and different campaigns. What the numbers show is simpler: a list of names Minaj publicly backed, and a record that most of those names did not win. Minaj has also made clear that her support for the president has not changed.
