Prime Video has set its premiere dates for Criminal, a new crime series, and released a teaser trailer and first-look images. A teaser is a short preview clip, and first-look images are the first official stills from a show. The release was made on 5 November 2026, according to Deadline.

The series arrives in two parts, with four episodes in each. Part One, "Coward," debuts on 13 January 2027. Part Two, "Lawless," follows on 27 January 2027. Prime Video will show Criminal exclusively, meaning it will not be sold to other services, in more than 240 countries and territories.

The show is based on the graphic novel series created by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. It is described as an interlocking universe of crime stories, which means separate tales that connect through shared characters and places.

Charlie Hunnam plays Leo Patterson. Luke Evans plays Tracy Lawless, who comes home from the Army to find his life has changed. Gus Halper plays Ricky Lawless, Tracy's younger brother. Adria Arjona plays Greta, a car thief from Leo's past, and Emilia Clarke plays Mallory, Ricky's girlfriend. Richard Jenkins, Kadeem Hardison, John Hawkes and Logan Browning also star.

Amazon MGM Studios produces the series, alongside Basement Gang, Inc., Big Indie Pictures, Inc., Gowanus Projections, Inc., and Legendary Television Productions, Inc. Brubaker and Phillips are among the executive producers, along with Philipp A. Barnett, Anna Boden, Ryan Fleck, Jordan Harper, Sarah Carbiener, Dee Rees and Halley Gross.

The studio's announcement on its press site carried the headline "Family Runs Deep." The line points to the series' focus on the Lawless brothers and the people around them, as the studio framed the release.

For viewers, the schedule is simple. Each part drops all four of its episodes at once, so a full block of the story is ready to watch on the day it arrives. The gap between the two parts is two weeks.
