Robert Pattinson to Receive 40th American Cinematheque Award

Robert Pattinson will be honoured as the 40th recipient of the American Cinematheque Award, with the ceremony now set for 9 February 2027, Variety reported on 5 November 2026.

The ceremony will be held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. It was first planned for 2 November this year. It has been moved into 2027 after Ryan Gosling, who had previously been selected to receive the 40th award, had a scheduling conflict.

Pattinson is best known to many audiences as Bruce Wayne in The Batman (2022) and as Edward Cullen in the Twilight films. Gosling has starred in La La Land and Barbie, where he played Ken.

The award's most recent recipient was Michael B. Jordan, who received it last year. Jordan is known for Creed and for playing the villain Killmonger in Black Panther.

The American Cinematheque runs three cinemas in the Los Angeles area: the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, the Los Feliz 3 Theatre in Los Feliz and the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. Its annual gala is a fundraiser, and it supports the screenings and programmes at those venues throughout the year.

For moviegoers who depend on repertory screenings of older and classic films, the gala is a reminder that cinemas like these rely on donors as well as ticket buyers.
