Atlantic Records and Teddy Park's label, The Black Label, will produce the soundtrack for Perfect Girl, an upcoming K-pop thriller, Deadline reported on 5 November 2026.

The two labels join Badlands, Thunder Road and Renegade as producers on the film. Atlantic Records President Kevin Weaver is an executive producer, a credit for a person who helps shape and back a film without running the shoot day to day.

The film is an English-language thriller. Its producers describe it as "Scream meets Black Swan," a pitch that places it between the slasher horror of the Scream series and the psychological ballet drama of Black Swan. The story follows a new female supergroup preparing for its debut, with four places still open in the group. Deadline reported that the final cut is about a week away.

The cast is Arden Cho, May Hong, Adeline Rudolph and Jeon Somi. Hong Won-ki directs. Hong and videographer Kim Jun-hong are the creative team behind Zanybros, which Deadline describes as the leading music video production company in South Korea. The screenplay is by Lynn Q. Yu, whose script was on the 2023 Black List, the annual survey of well-regarded unproduced screenplays in Hollywood.

Music is a large part of the plan. The film will carry an original soundtrack with new songs from Atlantic Records and The Black Label, including new music from Jeon Somi. Several original songs will be performed by the cast themselves. Atlantic and The Black Label are both music companies, so the soundtrack gives the label side of the production a direct route to release.

Sales are moving too. Upgrade is handling international dealmaking, the work of selling a film territory by territory, and has already secured distribution deals across most international markets. It will continue those sales at the American Film Market, the trade event in California where buyers and sellers meet in November. CAA Media Finance is representing domestic rights, meaning the United States and Canada, which is the territory where a film's cinema release and home-entertainment rights are sold first.

The film is in post-production, the stage after filming when editing, visual effects and sound work are completed. An October 2025 Deadline report had already named John Kim as joining the cast alongside Arden Cho, Jeon Somi and Adeline Rudolph. Kim appeared in Amazon's Cruel Intentions, according to that report.

No release date or distributor for North America has been reported, so the calendar is still open. For now, the next steps are the final cut, the soundtrack and the sales floor in Santa Monica.
