Wynonna Judd is set to receive the ASCAP Golden Note Award, which will be presented at the ASCAP Nashville Songwriters Celebration on Monday, Nov. 16, in Nashville. Billboard reported the news on Nov. 6.

ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, collects royalties for songwriters and music publishers when their songs are performed. The Golden Note Award honours career milestones reached by songwriters, composers and artists. Earlier recipients include Garth Brooks, Tom Petty, LeAnn Rimes, Lee Ann Womack, Reba, Alan Jackson and Don Williams.

Judd's best-known work includes her years with The Judds, the duo she formed with her mother. The pair amassed 14 No. 1 hits on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, which ranks country songs each week by radio play, streaming and sales. They also reached No. 1 four times on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, the weekly ranking of country albums. The duo was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in April 2022.

Judd has also built a solo career. Her ninth solo studio album, The Hard Truth, was released through ANTI- Records. She is now touring behind it. The Hard Truth tour is a 33-date run across North America.

For fans in the audience, the Nashville event offers a chance to see the songwriting side of a career that has often been defined by vocals. The celebration is a songwriters' event, and the award sits alongside other honours handed out that week to people who write the songs that others sing.

Anyone planning to attend the Nashville celebration should check ASCAP's own listings for ticket details and the schedule for the evening.
