Dubois and Han Set for Lightweight Unification Bout in El Paso

Caroline Dubois will fight Stephanie Han on Saturday, 20 February 2027, in a lightweight bout that puts three world titles on the line.
The fight is set for the Gecu Arena at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas. BBC Sport reported the match-up, and the promoter has billed it as MVPW 09.
Dubois, 25, is the reigning WBC and WBO lightweight champion. She is unbeaten, with 14 wins and one draw, and has won 5 of those fights by knockout. In April 2026 she unified her titles with a decision win over Terri Harper. A decision is a win on the judges' scorecards, which is what happens when a fight goes the full distance without a knockout.
Han, 36, holds the WBA lightweight belt and is also unbeaten, with 13 wins. She is a native of El Paso, so the bout takes her back to her home city. She has defended her WBA title three times, including two wins over Holly Holm in 2026. The rematch in May was scored 95-95 by one judge and 96-94 for Han by the other two, according to KTSM.
So what is a unification fight? Boxing has several sanctioning bodies, organisations that approve title fights and award belts. Each can crown its own champion in the same weight class, so one division can have several belts at once. A fighter who holds more than one of them is called a unified champion. Lightweight is the weight class with a limit of 135 pounds (about 61 kilograms), and this bout will decide who holds the WBC, WBO and WBA titles in that division.
For casual fans, the appeal is simple. Two undefeated champions are meeting, and the winner will leave with all three belts. Both fighters have shown they can win inside the distance and on the scorecards, so the matchup asks different questions of each of them.
Dubois and Han are not the only names on the bill of attention this week. IBF champion Elif Nur Turhan will face Alycia Baumgardner in Texas, and Baumgardner is stepping up from super-featherweight to take that fight. Dubois has confirmed she will be ringside for it. Dubois and Baumgardner are both signed to Most Valuable Promotions, the same promotion behind the February card.
Fight dates in boxing often move, and bouts can change after they are announced. For now, the date, venue and titles at stake are the confirmed details.
