Moyes Set to Equal Catterick's Everton Record as Coventry Visit

David Moyes is set to equal a record that has belonged to Harry Catterick for decades. When Everton host Coventry City on Friday evening, it will be Moyes' 592nd game in charge of the club across his two spells, matching Catterick's all-time total.
Catterick led Everton to league titles in 1963 and 1970. Ahead of the match, Moyes said he was targeting trophies with Everton, a sign that he wants more than the record itself.
The match kicks off at 20:00 GMT at Hill Dickinson Stadium in Liverpool. It is a Premier League fixture in the 2026/27 season, and Sky Sports is showing it live in the UK.
Before the game, Moyes said Jarrad Branthwaite would need a check to see whether he could play. Branthwaite was named in Everton's starting line-up, which also has Pickford in goal and Tarkowski alongside him in defence. Mykolenko, Armstrong, Garner, Dibling, Dewsbury-Hall, George and Barry complete the side.
Coventry start with Rushworth in goal and Awoniyi leading the attack. Gboho, Gboho's fellow winger Sakamoto and midfielders Yirenkyi, Torp and Rudoni make up the rest of the group, with Dasilva, Pinnock, Mfuni and van Ewijk in defence.
Stuart Attwell is the referee. Timothy Wood is the VAR, the video review official who checks major decisions such as goals and penalties on screen.
There is a local thread to the occasion too. Scott Phelan, now Everton's women's team head coach, was a ball boy at Goodison Park for Moyes' first match in charge in 2002. Now the job is to see how the next 90 minutes unfold on Merseyside.
