Piaget, the Swiss watchmaker, will produce just 86 pieces of a new watch inspired by Andy Warhol's Camouflage self-portraits from 1986, according to ArtNews.

The watch's dial, the face where the hours are shown, is built from sodalite and turquoise stones. Sodalite is a deep blue mineral. The dial also uses satin-finished gold and polished rose gold, and 27 separate pieces make it up. ArtNews reports that the dial took more than 100 hours of research and craftsmanship.

The case is made of white gold and carved with a gadrooned edge, a pattern of raised ridges. Piaget's own product page describes the watch as a limited edition that follows the success of the brand's first Warhol edition. A separate Piaget page calls it the second collaboration linked to the artist. Hypebeast gives the case size as 45 millimetres, with a cushion shape, which is a softly square outline with rounded corners.

Inside is Piaget's 501 P1 movement, the internal mechanism that keeps the watch running. It is an automatic movement, meaning it winds itself as the wearer moves. ArtNews says it holds a 40-hour power reserve, so it keeps running for up to two days without being worn. The back of the case, called the caseback, carries Warhol's engraved signature and the watch's edition number.

Warhol was a keen collector of watches. ArtNews reports that he owned around seven Piaget pieces. The link goes back to 2024, when Piaget received permission from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts to rename its Black Tie watch in the artist's honour. The Black Tie is a reinvention of the Ref. 15102, a 45-millimetre cushion-shaped watch that Warhol owned.

Under the licence, Piaget may create one watch a year drawing on Warhol's work. The brand released a limited Collage watch in 2025, with a dial of pink opal, green chrysoprase and yellow serpentine. Piaget's artistic director is Stéphanie Sivière.

The price of the 2026 Camouflage watch has not been published. ArtNews reports it is "priced upon request," which means buyers must ask Piaget for the cost directly. Anyone who wants one will need to contact the brand, and the number of pieces is fixed at 86.
