Macklemore Accuses Nine U.S. Arenas of Blocking His Free Palestine Tour

Macklemore has accused nine major U.S. arenas of blocking his Free Palestine tour, in a statement posted to Instagram on November 6, 2026. He said the venues had pulled support for dates he had been offered, and he described the response as "intimidation, manipulation and suppression."
The venues he named are Madison Square Garden, Prudential Center, Barclays Center, UBS Arena, Intuit Dome, Kia Forum, Crypto.com Arena, Chase Center and Climate Pledge Arena. According to Macklemore, he had received available dates at all nine through the end of the year by mid-September. Those dates were then withdrawn, he said, after the venues learned the shows were benefit concerts, meaning the ticket money would go to a cause, in this case Palestinian relief.
Madison Square Garden responded to Billboard. A spokesperson said: "We have some of the busiest venues in the world with extremely limited availability and he's not an arena level act." The spokesperson's comments addressed the Garden's own calendar.
The tour has already had shows abroad. Macklemore's earlier Free Palestine concerts took place at 3Arena in Dublin, Accor Arena in Paris and OVO Arena Wembley in London. Rolling Stone reported in September that all three dates sold out immediately. The tour was first scheduled to open in Dublin on October 26, 2026, according to an earlier Rolling Stone report.
The rapper's name is also tied to the Garden. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis headlined the arena on November 14, 2013, which is part of why the venue's reply has drawn attention in the music business. Arena calendars are often planned months ahead, so a date that is pulled late can leave promoters, crews and staff without work they had counted on.
Macklemore's dispute comes shortly after another public row. Variety reported that he was removed from Ed Sheeran's Loop tour over pro-Palestine comments he made during his opening set at MetLife Stadium.
None of the nine venues has been reported as accepting the tour dates since the statement was posted.
