Chris Brown and Usher's Atlanta R&B Tour Opener Starts Two Hours Late

The first of five Atlanta nights for The R&B Tour, starring Chris Brown and Usher, began more than two hours late on Thursday, Nov. 5, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Billboard reported.
The delay did not end there. Billboard reported that both artists' sets were cut short because of pressure from a midnight curfew. The two headliners did not perform together that night. Usher took the stage and told the crowd, "Welcome to my show." T.I. and Young Dro appeared as special guests.
Fans and commentators reacted quickly. Early on Friday, Nov. 6, Brown posted "Internet [cap], Don't fall for it" on his Instagram Story. In slang, "cap" means a lie. Hot 97 reported that the two artists faced backlash after the show. Complex reported that the post came amid reports of a backstage argument between the pair.
The tour continues in Atlanta with four more dates: Nov. 6, Nov. 8, Nov. 10 and Nov. 11. Live Nation lists the Sunday, Nov. 8 show at 7:30 PM. After Atlanta, the tour heads to Los Angeles.
The tour's money is also large. Billboard Boxscore, which tracks concert ticket sales, recorded that The R&B Tour grossed $77.4 million and sold 423,000 tickets across 10 shows in September. That made it the highest-grossing and best-selling tour of the month.
For anyone heading to a remaining Atlanta show, the schedule is the practical detail. Each late start pushes back the night for the crew, the support acts and the fans, and a curfew leaves less stage time for the artists who sold the tickets.
