Bath Beat Exeter 35-19 as Saracens Rout Newcastle 54-19

Bath earned their first win in Pool A of the Prem Rugby Cup on Saturday, beating Exeter 35-19 at Sandy Park. A pool is a group of teams that play each other, and the result lifts Bath to third in the table while Exeter slipped to the bottom.
Fly-half Ciaran Donoghue was the main man for Bath, scoring 20 points. He kicked, ran and finished, including a try two minutes after half-time that pushed Bath's lead to 24-12. A try is worth five points and is scored by grounding the ball in the opponent's in-goal area.
Bath had led 17-12 at the break. Tom Carr-Smith had touched down inside the first five minutes, put in by Sam Winters, and Jack Harrison also crossed for Bath. Exeter gave their supporters plenty to cheer. Debutant Carwyn Tuipulotu scored two close-range tries, and Sam Harris added another to make it 27-19 with time running out.
Bath sealed the win with a bonus point, an extra table point for a strong attacking display. Max Pearce scored it from a rolling maul five minutes from time. A rolling maul is when forwards bind together and drive the ball forward while staying on their feet.
At Allianz Park, Saracens thrashed Newcastle Red Bulls 54-19 to move top of Pool B. The hosts were already 40-0 up at half-time and collected their bonus point after 18 minutes.
Eoghan Clarke scored two tries for Saracens, and Nathan Michelow and Andy Onyeama-Christie both crossed in the last 10 minutes of the first half. Tom James and Fraser Rawlins also scored, before Toby Knight and Charlie Bracken pushed the lead to 54-7 with eight minutes left.
Newcastle had their moments. Jake Dalziel scored their first points 11 minutes after the break, and Finn Baker and Kaleem Barreto grabbed tries in the final three minutes. Those late scores were not enough, and Newcastle remain second-from-bottom of their pool.
