Aberdeen beaten 4-0 by Hibernian as Stephen Robinson's position comes under scrutiny

Aberdeen lost 4-0 at home to Hibernian, a result that leaves manager Stephen Robinson facing hard questions. Hibernian were bottom of the Scottish Premiership before kick-off.
It is Aberdeen's fourth defeat in five league games, and their fourth loss in a row in all competitions. They now sit in the relegation play-off place, above only Kilmarnock. That spot means a club must win a two-legged tie to keep its top-flight status.
Robinson had described the game as a must-win. Afterwards, BBC Sport reported, he called Aberdeen's performance and result not acceptable. He also said: "I'm Aberdeen manager until told otherwise, I'll keep fighting until told otherwise."
The home supporters made their feelings clear during the match. Fans chanted "You're getting sacked in the morning" at Robinson. Michael Stewart, speaking on Premier Sports, said: "You do get that feeling it could now be curtains for Robinson."
Robinson was appointed in March. In his 21 league games since, Aberdeen have won six and lost 11. Only St Mirren have scored as few league goals this season, with Aberdeen on 12 each. If the club moves him on, it would be their sixth managerial change since Derek McInnes left in 2021.
The club spent heavily to rebuild over the summer. Aberdeen signed 15 players in the transfer window, the two periods when clubs can buy and sell players. Adrian Bevington was appointed chief executive in September.
Robinson's story with this opponent has not all been dark. In April, he earned his first win as Aberdeen head coach, a 2-0 victory over Hibernian, with Sky Sports reporting that Kevin Nisbet scored both goals. Hibernian had ten men that afternoon.
For Aberdeen supporters, the next few days will be about whether the club stands by its manager or makes a change. Robinson has said he will keep fighting. The table, and the chants, suggest the pressure will keep building until results turn.
