Thai Director Shows Photo of Real On-Set Scene at Taipei Fest

Thai director Thiti "Tongte" Srinuan showed a photo of himself defecating on camera during a session at the Taiwan Creative Content Fest in Taipei. Variety reported the account on 8 November 2026.
The scene dates from Srinuan's time as a supporting actor with Taibaan Studio. He played a man who relieves himself wherever he likes. According to Variety, the production had him do it for real on set rather than use a prop.
Srinuan told the audience that 40 or 50 people were watching him on set, and he felt he could not go. The session was moderated by Mr. Knee, senior public relations manager at Vieshow Cinemas and founding chair of the Taiwan Film Critics Society. The fest's organisers had only seen the photo on the morning of the session.
Srinuan wrote and directed The Undertaker, released in 2023, and its sequel for Taibaan Studio. It was the sixth feature in the Taibaan universe, and it became the highest-grossing Thai film in nine years. Variety reports that it took more than THB700 million ($20.8 million) in Thailand. The baht is Thailand's currency.
The film was budgeted at THB10 million ($297,000), and THB8 million ($238,000) was actually spent. The franchise draws on the language and culture of Isan, the northeastern region of Thailand. Srinuan also said his music videos have passed 4 billion views combined.
Srinuan was visiting Taiwan for the first time to take part in the TCCF Forum. He was the only panelist at a session on how user-generated content, videos made by ordinary people and shared online, can become a route to theatrical features. The forum invited him to explain how that kind of online material can turn attention into intellectual property, meaning stories and characters that can be developed into films, series or other products.
The fest runs from 6 to 9 November at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.
