Saudi Arabia Intercepts Houthi Missiles as Debris Damages Aramco Building in Riyadh

Saudi Arabia intercepted Houthi missiles aimed at Riyadh and the Eastern Province on November 8, 2026, according to Al Jazeera. To intercept a missile means to shoot it down before it reaches its target.
Loud booms were heard in the Saudi capital after an early warning alert was issued that day, Reuters reported. Falling debris from an attempted attack damaged an administrative building belonging to Saudi Aramco, the oil company, in Riyadh.
The damaged building is located in the city's financial district, according to Chosun. Middle East Eye reported that the Aramco building was damaged after Houthi missile attacks on Riyadh.
Yahya Saree, identified as the Houthi military spokesperson, claimed responsibility for a series of missile and drone attacks targeting Saudi Arabia's oil facilities, according to Economic Times. The Houthis claimed six missile and drone attacks in all, aimed at Aramco facilities and Riyadh airport.
