Skims Promotes Tracy Nguyen to Chief Communications Officer in Newly Created Role

Skims, the shapewear and intimates brand founded by Kim Kardashian and Jens Grede, has promoted Tracy Nguyen to chief communications officer — a newly created position at the company. Nguyen joined Skims in 2024 as executive vice president of communications and entertainment, and she will continue to serve as co-general manager of NikeSkims, the joint venture with Nike, while taking on the expanded role. Nguyen will be based in New York and report directly to Kardashian, Skims' chief creative officer and cofounder, and Grede, its chief executive officer and cofounder. In her new capacity she leads global communications, brand collaborations and what the company calls cultural activations — partnerships and events designed to keep the brand visible across entertainment and sport.

The promotion places a communications executive who has worked with Kardashian for nearly a decade at the centre of Skims' brand strategy. Before joining Skims, Nguyen spent seven years as chief brand officer at KKW Brands, Kardashian's earlier beauty and fragrance business. She also cofounded Industry Public Relations, which she ran for more than ten years, and held leadership roles at People's Revolution, 5W Public Relations and Sunshine Sachs — all firms that operate in the celebrity and fashion publicity space.

Nguyen's tenure at Skims already includes one of the brand's most closely watched deals. She guided the partnership between Skims and Nike that produced NikeSkims, and was named co-general manager of that venture in 2025. Keeping both responsibilities — running NikeSkims alongside her new CCO duties — signals that the two brands' collaboration remains a priority for Skims' leadership.

Skims was launched in 2019, initially focused on women's underwear, loungewear and shapewear. A menswear line, Skims Mens, followed in 2023, broadening the brand beyond its original category. The company has not disclosed financial figures alongside Nguyen's promotion.

Kardashian and Grede shared direct statements with WWD announcing the move, as did Nguyen herself, framing the appointment as part of Skims' next phase of growth. No further structural changes to the leadership team were announced.
