AI-Generated Doctors Are Flooding TikTok's Health Search Results

Forty percent of top health-related videos on TikTok are now AI-generated, according to research published July 27, 2026, by the digital marketing agency Hallam. For some search terms, the rate is even higher: 84% of results for "health tips" were classified as AI-generated or AI-assisted (The Guardian).
Hallam's analysis covered 1,198 videos and looked at the top 50 results across search terms including "health tips" and "doctor advice." The top AI-generated doctor and health videos averaged 2.5 million views each.

Dr Emma Runswick, deputy chair of the British Medical Association council, told The Guardian that the accounts "peddle medical myths and promote so-called miracle cures."
