What remains unresolved is the hinge trade-off. The inability to hold 90 degrees is not a minor footnote for power users who treated tabletop mode as a core workflow. Samsung apparently judged that full 180-degree flatness and a less visible crease were worth sacrificing Flex Mode stability, and whether that calculus holds up will depend on how many users actually deployed tabletop mode versus how many simply wanted the device to close more cleanly. The pattern is familiar: each foldable generation resolves one compromise while introducing another, and the net gain is measured in whether the resolved problem outweighed the newly created one. On paper, a wider display, titanium reinforcement, anti-glare, and reduced crease visibility together amount to a more substantial year-over-year improvement than the Fold line has delivered in several iterations.
