Eminem is selling 117 pairs of sneakers from his personal collection — every pair autographed — with all proceeds going to the Marshall Mathers Foundation, which supports disadvantaged and at-risk youth in Detroit and its surrounding communities (Billboard).

The auction, run through Julien's Auctions, is the largest single sale of personal merchandise from Eminem in his career to date, according to the auction house (Billboard). Bidding is open now and runs through a live auction on 25 August at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. One hundred per cent of the proceeds go to the foundation.

Some lots opened at remarkably low entry points — bids starting as low as $25, according to AOL, citing the auction catalogue (AOL). Others carry steeper floors. The signed Carhartt x Nike Air Jordan 4 Promo Sneakers, a collaboration from 2015, have a starting bid of $4,000 (AOL).

The collection leans heavily on Air Jordans and includes some genuinely rare pairs. Among them are the Air Jordan 4 Encore and the 2015 Carhartt collaboration, both produced in extremely limited numbers. The standout lot drawing early attention is the Air Jordan 3 'Slim Shady' PE — a player-exclusive colourway, meaning a shoe made specifically for one person rather than released to the public. Eminem wore this pair during the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show in 2022. As of 28 July, the current bid sat at $8,000, with Billboard reporting the pair was expected to reach more than $25,000 (Billboard).

The 25 August event is not limited to footwear. The live auction also features match-worn and match-issued sports jerseys alongside the sneaker lots (PR Newswire).

For sneaker collectors, the draw is straightforward: these are not retail pairs. Many were never sold to the public, all carry Eminem's signature, and several have specific performance or media provenance. For anyone else, the entry-level lots mean the auction is not only aimed at high-end bidders. A signed pair at a $25 opening bid puts the collection within reach of fans who would never approach four-figure territory.

The Marshall Mathers Foundation, the sole beneficiary, directs resources toward youth programmes and community organisations serving Detroit and surrounding areas. The foundation's work has long focused on the city Eminem grew up in, and the auction's structure — personal items, no reserve on the cause — makes the charitable intent the headline rather than a footnote.
