A shark thriller three years in the making lands on Prime Video today, July 29, 2026. The Devil's Mouth, directed by Jeff Wadlow, traps five young vacationers inside a coastal Thailand cave with a bull shark — and debuts globally as a Prime Original on the streaming service.

The film stars Kathryn Newton as Sarah, with Lana Condor as her best friend, Max. The cast also includes Tommi Rose as Adrienne, Nico Hiraga as James, Gavin Casalegno as Greg, and Tayme Thapthimthong — recognised from The White Lotus — as local guide Wat. The screenplay comes from Aja Gabel and Myung Joh Wesner, and the script landed on the Black List, the annual survey of popular unproduced screenplays in Hollywood (Variety).

The project was first announced at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2023, when Wadlow was attached to direct. Wadlow previously helmed two Blumhouse thrillers, Truth or Dare (2018) and Fantasy Island (2020), both of which were commercial releases backed by Jason Blum's horror-focused production company (The Hollywood Reporter). A trailer dropped in late June 2026, selling the film as a survival thriller (Deadline).
