Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige Fuel Spider-Man/Venom Crossover Talk on Happy Sad Confused

Amy Pascal wants Tom Holland's Spider-Man to meet Tom Hardy's Venom. Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast hosted by Josh Horowitz, the veteran producer — long the guiding hand behind Sony's Spider-Man films — said she hopes the two characters will eventually share the screen. Deadline
She was not alone. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige sat beside her for the same episode and offered three words on the crossover prospect: "Always have hope." Pascal made the comments during the promotional cycle for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the next instalment in Holland's series. Deadline
This is not the first time the idea has surfaced from inside the tent. Tom Hardy told The Discourse Podcast in 2025 that a crossover between his Venom and Holland's Spider-Man was close to happening. Hardy has played the symbiote-antihero across three Sony films; Holland's Spider-Man has operated within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a shared continuity overseen by Feige's Marvel Studios in partnership with Sony, which holds the character's film rights. The two franchises have circled each other before. Hardy's Venom briefly appeared in a post-credits scene attached to Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), though the characters did not interact on screen. A full crossover would require coordination between Sony, which owns the Venom franchise, and Disney-owned Marvel Studios, which steers the broader MCU.
Pascal also confirmed that an animated Venom movie remains in the works at Sony. Deadline reported in February 2026 that Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein — the directing duo behind the 2023 thriller Lisa Frankenstein — were set to direct that project. No release date has been announced. Deadline
For fans, the comments are a signal that the door is not closed, even if no deal has been announced. Neither Pascal nor Feige offered a timeline, named a project, or confirmed that negotiations are under way between the studios. What they offered was enthusiasm — from two people positioned to make it happen if the business aligns.
Whether that alignment comes depends on the usual forces: deal structure, release-date strategy, and the willingness of two corporate owners to share their most valuable characters. For now, hope is what is on the table.
