Ear, the New York-based duo Pitchfork describes as working in IDM-pop — a blend of electronic experimentation and pop melody — have announced a North American tour for September and October 2026 in support of their album Rumspringa.

Rumspringa is the band's debut release on A24 Music, the record label arm of the film and entertainment company A24, according to Pitchfork. The tour begins at the East 34th Street Heliport in New York City on 12 September 2026, with support acts New York and Bby Kell. From there, the route runs through Boston, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago, San Diego, San Francisco and Arcosanti, Arizona.

The venues sit on the smaller, characterful end of the touring scale. Arts at the Armory in Boston hosts the duo on 16 September with support from Oral. The First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia follows on 17 September, with Slauson Malone 1 and Happy Dranker opening. Ear also plays the Making Time ∞ festival in Philadelphia on 19 September.

The Canadian leg lands at East End United Church in Toronto on 23 September, with Wackoes supporting. Epiphany Center for the Arts in Chicago follows on 24 September with Quiet Light. Two California festivals close out September: Crssd in San Diego on 26 September and Portola in San Francisco on 27 September. The tour's final stop is Form Arcosanti, a multi-day festival in Arcosanti, Arizona, running 9–11 October.

What makes the routing stand out is the mix of unconventional rooms and festival stages. Churches, a heliport and an arts centre sit alongside established festival bookings, which points to a band building its audience room by room rather than jumping straight into theatre-sized venues. The support acts — Slauson Malone 1, Quiet Light, Oral — skew toward the experimental end of independent music, placing Ear in a curated context rather than a generic bill.

Pitchfork listed the dates inline in its story on 29 July 2026, without linking to a separate announcement from the band. The full schedule covers nine engagements across just over a month, with five standalone shows and four festival appearances.

For a duo releasing their first record on a label best known for film, the touring commitment is substantial. A24 Music has been expanding beyond its film-score origins into artist signings, and Ear's live rollout gives that move a concrete footprint — eleven dates, seven cities, one debut album behind them.
