Property Masters Guild Announces 2026 MacGuffin Award Nominees: Happy Gilmore 2, Wicked: For Good, Fallout Season 2 and More

The Property Masters Guild has revealed its 2026 MacGuffin Award nominees, putting the people who build, source and place every object you see on screen — from a hero's weapon to a coffee mug on a kitchen counter — into the spotlight for the third year running.
The MacGuffin Awards, which the Guild describes as "the only award show dedicated exclusively to props," honour creative excellence across film, television, commercials and more. Voting runs across 11 categories this year. Winners will be announced on 12 September at the Paramount Theatre in Hollywood, with the ceremony scheduled from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM (Deadline; Property Masters Guild).
The nominated films read like a roll call of 2026's biggest releases. In the Contemporary Feature Film category: Happy Gilmore 2, Now You See Me: Now You Don't, One Battle After Another, The Accountant 2 and Weapons. Period Feature Film nods go to Deliver Me from Nowhere, Frankenstein, Marty Supreme, Sinners and The Phoenician Scheme. The Fantasy/Science Fiction Feature Film nominees are Avatar: Fire and Ash, Bugonia, How to Train Your Dragon, Tron: Ares and Wicked: For Good (Deadline).
On the television side, the One-Hour Contemporary Series category pits Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, Your Friends & Neighbors Season 2, Pluribus Season 1, The 'Burbs Season 1 and The Morning Show Season 4 against each other. One-Hour Period Series nominees are IT: Welcome to Derry, Monster: The Ed Gein Story, Palm Royale Season 2, Spider-Noir Season 1 and The Gilded Age Season 3. The Fantasy/Sci-Fi TV race features Fallout Season 2, Foundation Season 3, Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 and Twisted Metal Season 2 (Deadline).
Half-hour shows get their own categories. Single-camera nominees are Abbott Elementary Season 5, Hacks Season 5, Murderbot Season 1, Ted Season 2 and Widow's Bay Season 1. Multi-camera nominees are Happy's Place Season 2, Shifting Gears Season 2, The Upshaws Season 7, Vampirina: Teenage Vampire Season 1 and Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Season 2 (Deadline).
The Deadline report did not list nominees for the Television Miniseries category.
PMG President Jeffrey Johnson said in a statement that the calibre of submitted work reaffirms how much property masters shape the stories audiences love, and that the award was created to ensure that kind of artistry never goes unnoticed (Deadline).
The MacGuffin Awards are still young. The inaugural ceremony took place in September 2024, with Oppenheimer and The Bear among the winners (Variety). At the second annual ceremony in September 2025, the marquee film prizes went to Dune: Part Two, Heretic and A Complete Unknown, while television winners included The Studio, Severance and Shōgun (Deadline).
What makes the MacGuffins stand out is their narrow focus. Every awards season celebrates actors, directors and writers. Props — the physical objects that sell a scene's reality, whether it is a period-accurate 1920s telephone or a futuristic plasma rifle — are rarely the headline. These awards put that work centre stage.
Tickets for the third annual ceremony are on sale now through the Property Masters Guild website. The Guild is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organisation (Property Masters Guild).
