Helldivers 2 is getting a Warhammer 40,000 crossover. The collaboration, a paid content drop called a Warbond — a battle-pass-style bundle of cosmetics, weapons and armour unlocked through play — arrives on 12 August 2026.

Developer Arrowhead Game Studios and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed the Warbond in full on 30 July 2026, naming it "Castellan's Creed" (Tech Times). The reveal was also shared on the official Warhammer Community site's video games page, which references Helldivers 2 alongside the Warhammer universes (Warhammer Community).

The Warbond packs three weapons drawn from the Warhammer 40K universe and two armour sets based on the Imperial Guard, the vast human army in Games Workshop's tabletop sci-fi setting (PC Gamer). Confirmed items include the Meltagun — a short-range heat weapon iconic to the 40K franchise — and Kasrkin armour sets, modelled on the elite shock troops of the Imperial Guard's Cadian regiments (Tech Times).

For the uninitiated, the crossover bridges two militaries that are tonally cut from similar cloth. Helldivers 2 players serve Super Earth, a satirical, propaganda-driven human government that sends troops to die on alien worlds for "democracy." Warhammer 40K's Imperium of Man is a far darker take on the same archetype: a galaxy-spanning, authoritarian regime whose soldiers hold the line against aliens and daemons. Neither setting takes a gentle view of command.

What makes the pairing land is the gear. The Meltagun and Kasrkin armour slot directly into Helldivers 2's existing systems rather than arriving as purely decorative items. Players will be able to wield 40K's signature weaponry in the co-op shooter's chaotic, bug-and-bot-filled firefights.

The full 30 July reveal was promoted across social media, including an Instagram reel from the official Helldivers 2 account (Instagram).

Warhammer 40K is one of gaming's most prolific crossover brands. Games Workshop licenses the property across strategy games, shooters, role-playing games and mobile titles, with dozens of releases spanning decades. Helldivers 2, released in February 2024, became one of that year's breakout hits, drawing millions of players to its four-player co-op missions and live-service model — sold and updated in seasonal content drops after launch.
