TREBEL Acquires Superfan Platform Sesh to Build Artist Services Across the Americas

Ad-supported music app TREBEL has acquired Sesh, a superfan platform that helps artists identify and activate their most devoted listeners, the companies announced via LinkedIn posts on Thursday, July 30. Neither side disclosed financial terms. Music Business Worldwide
The deal pairs TREBEL's listener base across the United States and Latin America with Sesh's toolset for turning casual listeners into identified, contactable fans. TREBEL says its brand-sponsored service reaches millions of listeners on a licensed catalogue of more than 100 million tracks from every major label and leading distributor. What it lacked, the company said, was a robust artist services arm — the kind of infrastructure that lets artist teams run campaigns, manage fan relationships and monetise directly.
Sesh's technology addresses that gap. The platform turns a listener into an identified fan in under a minute, according to TREBEL, paired with campaign tooling and a CRM — customer relationship management software — built for artist teams. Fans receive a "Member Card" saved to their phone wallet, which lets artists push notifications to lock screens. Sesh claims open rates of 90% for those wallet-pass messages, a figure that dwarfs typical email marketing performance. Music Business Worldwide
Crucially for artists, Sesh's platform lets them own fan data — email addresses, locations, dates of birth — rather than leaving that information inside a streaming service or social network they do not control. Pricing starts at $49 per month, with upgrades available when an artist is ready to monetise. joinsesh.ai
Sesh was co-founded by Pepe del Río, Iñigo-Hubertus Bunzl Pelayo, María José Guzmán and Andrés Fajardo. Del Río serves as CEO. In April 2025, the company raised USD $7 million in a round led by Miura Global. At the time of that raise, Sesh said it worked with more than 250 artists, including Anitta, Yeri Mua, Mau y Ricky and Nathy Peluso. The roster carried a combined 1 billion social-media followers and 44 Grammy nominations across the prior year. Music Business Worldwide
TREBEL, founded in 2014, filed for a US IPO in 2021. Its filing listed 3.2 million monthly active users and $2.33 million in revenue for 2020 — modest figures by streaming-industry standards, but enough to signal a business built on ad-supported free listening rather than subscription tiers. The acquisition lands amid broad industry interest in superfan monetisation — the push to move beyond per-stream royalties, the fractional payouts that streaming services pay labels and publishers each time a track is played, and toward direct-to-fan revenue through merchandise, VIP experiences and exclusive content. Major labels have signalled that superfan tiers are a priority, and a crop of startups is competing to provide the infrastructure.
For TREBEL, the deal adds the artist-facing side it said it was missing. For Sesh, it plugs a fan-engagement platform into an app with an existing audience across two continents. Whether the combination produces the integrated artist-services business both sides describe will depend on execution that has not yet been tested in public.
