Matt Stein Joins Pocket.watch as VP of Marketing and Franchise

Matt Stein has joined Pocket.watch as VP, Marketing and Franchise, moving from Philo, the pay-TV streaming service where he served as Head of Brand & Creative Strategy. Deadline
Pocket.watch is a kids and family entertainment company best known for properties like Ryan's World and Love, Diana. The studio takes creator-driven content and distributes it across YouTube and major streaming platforms, including Hulu, Disney+ and Prime Video. In his new role, Stein will oversee consumer product launches for two of the company's brands — Toys and Colors, and JJ & Mikey.
Stein brings a long marketing résumé to the position. Before Philo, he held senior VP-level marketing roles at BBC America, Animal Planet, and the Science Channel, according to Deadline. His LinkedIn profile, which lists his location as Brooklyn, New York, describes him as having more than 20 years of experience building brands.
The hire comes as Pocket.watch continues to expand its footprint across streaming. The company recently launched Rabbit Hole, a creator-led variety series, on both Disney+ and Hulu. Prime Video has also greenlit a full series order for Love, Diana Music Hunters, an animated series based on the Kids Diana Show — meaning a full season goes into production without a pilot episode being shot first.
Chris M. Williams, CEO and Founder of Pocket.watch, has built the company around the idea that digital-first creators can become full-scale entertainment franchises, with toys, shows, and streaming deals under one roof. Stein's new title — Marketing and Franchise — signals that his remit covers not just promoting shows but building out the merchandising and brand extensions that follow.
For families who already watch Ryan's World on YouTube or stream Love, Diana on Prime Video, the appointment is unlikely to change what appears on screen in the immediate term. What it does signal is that Pocket.watch is investing in the people who turn a popular channel into a broader brand — one that lives on toy shelves and streaming home pages alike.
