Elizabeth Gillies has joined the cast of "The Right Side," an independent half-hour political dramedy series from co-creators Max Talisman and Lynne Kamm, according to Variety.

Gillies will play Jordan Silver, described in casting materials as "the tastemaker of the Silver Family." Jordan built a career critiquing her parents' politics on social media and carries significant influence in online liberal circles. Talisman co-created, writes, and co-showruns the series with Kamm, and also appears on screen as Elliot, Jordan's twin.

The show's ensemble has been taking shape across the first half of 2026. Andie MacDowell and Dyllón Burnside were announced as cast members in January, per Deadline. Peter Gallagher came aboard in May, reuniting him with MacDowell after a prior on-screen pairing, as Deadline and Yahoo Entertainment both noted. Burnside holds a recurring role.

MacDowell plays Ruthie, a conservative media celebrity and mother to Jordan and Elliot. Gallagher is Ruthie's husband and longtime television partner. The official logline sets the story in motion with "a live, on-air announcement that turns a terminal illness into a national spectacle" — as a beloved conservative TV couple's carefully maintained public persona collides with their real family dynamics when their liberal, podcast-famous children return home for a network tribute special.

Behind the camera, Atlantic Pictures serves as the production services company. Executive producers include Buzz Koenig and Darren Goldberg for Atlantic Pictures, Jess Sonnenfeld Jolles for Luber Roklin, and Katharina Eggmann, who also handles casting. An independent production — meaning it is financed and produced outside the studio-system pipeline of a major streamer or network — the series slots into the growing space of half-hour shows that blend comedy with political and family tension.

Gillies is widely recognised for playing Jade West, the sharp-tongued aspiring popstar on Nickelodeon's "Victorious" (2010–2013). She went on to headline the rebooted "Dynasty" as Fallon Carrington across five seasons on Netflix, wrapping in 2022. Her more recent credits include "The Hunting Party" and "The Orville." She is represented by Mainstay Entertainment and Ziffren Brittenham.

For Gillies, the role of Jordan Silver places her in an ensemble led by two veterans of American film and television.
