Bunnie Xo Says She Will Never Marry Again, Citing 'Betrayal Trauma' From Jelly Roll Divorce

Bunnie Xo has said she will never marry again, attributing the decision to "betrayal trauma" from her divorce from country artist Jelly Roll.
Speaking on her Dumb Blonde podcast in an episode posted on Monday, 3 August — with actor Denise Richards as her guest — Bunnie Xo explained that the experience rewires your brain to stop trusting people. "Betrayal trauma," in the psychological sense she invoked, refers to the emotional damage caused when someone deeply trusted causes harm, particularly through infidelity or deception.
Jelly Roll, 41, filed for divorce from Bunnie Xo on 18 May in Williamson County, Tennessee, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple had been married for nearly a decade. The filing became public in June, and the divorce was reportedly finalised in July, according to Billboard.
Bunnie Xo told Richards that the divorce was not mutual. She said she spoke out of anger following a Mother's Day argument and dared Jelly Roll to file the papers. He did.
The roots of the marital breakdown trace back further. In October 2025, Jelly Roll admitted on the Human School podcast that he had an affair early in their marriage. He called it one of the worst moments of his adulthood. Bunnie Xo has now framed that infidelity as the source of the trauma that ended her willingness to trust a partner again.
In the weeks between the divorce filing and its finalisation, Bunnie Xo briefly addressed the split on her podcast in a dedicated episode, then took it down. She later explained that she removed the episode because it was posted in a moment of anger and she regretted how she had spoken, according to E! News.
The new Dumb Blonde episode with Richards marks her most direct public statement on the divorce since the split was finalised. Jelly Roll has not publicly responded to her remarks.
For a couple whose relationship was woven into both their public personas — Bunnie Xo has been a visible presence at his shows and in his career narrative, while he has spoken openly about her role in his sobriety and personal growth — the undoing is playing out in the same public register in which the marriage lived. Bunnie Xo's podcast has been her platform throughout, and she is using it to narrate the ending on her own terms.
