A$AP Rocky shut down the idea of a celebrity boxing match with Drake on The Jason Lee Show, telling the host "He don't wanna see me" and proposing a bare-knuckle fight instead. The episode, titled "A$AP Rocky Shares Harlem Stories That Made Him, Rihanna, Fatherhood & Impact," premiered on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 8 AM ET.

The interview added fresh fuel to a feud that has been running for months. Rocky used the conversation to respond directly to Drake's track "Burning Bridges," on which Drake rapped: "Your baby mama ain't even post your single, damn / Where she at? Yeah, where she at" — a line widely read as a jab at Rihanna, who shares two children with Rocky and has been in a relationship with him since around 2020.

Rocky called the lyrics "stupid," according to Billboard. He pointed out that Rihanna does not appear on his latest album, "Don't Be Dumb," and that she only posted about the project after it reached No. 1. In other words, the premise of Drake's bar — that Rihanna was avoiding promotion — did not match what happened.

The roots of the conflict go back further. Rocky told the interviewer Akademiks earlier this year that his problems with Drake began when he started dating Rihanna around 2020. During the Jason Lee conversation, Rocky also accused Drake of orchestrating a smear campaign against him, though he did not detail specific allegations.

Host Jason Lee weighed in on his own, calling Drake's claim that he had slept with Rihanna "wack." That claim surfaced during the earlier exchanges between the two artists, and Lee's dismissal of it gave Rocky a friendly platform to frame his side of the dispute.

The conversation was not all conflict. At one point, Rocky watched never-before-seen footage of his daughter crawling, a moment that shifted the tone of the interview toward family and fatherhood before the discussion returned to the feud.

A trailer released the day before the premiere had already teased Rocky saying he would fight Drake, setting up expectations that the full interview would deliver more. It did — though the bare-knuckle proposal landed as characteristic bravado rather than a serious challenge with a date and a venue.

Neither artist's label has commented on the exchange. Rocky's album "Don't Be Dumb" remains his most recent project, while Drake's "Burning Bridges" continues to circulate as the track that prompted the latest round of responses.
