Tan France Steps Into Furniture Design With 18-Piece Castlery Collection

Tan France, the media personality and former Queer Eye host best known for coaching people through wardrobe overhauls, has turned his eye to the living room. On 6 August 2026, Singapore-based furniture brand Castlery released the Castlery x Tan France Collection — 18 pieces of furniture and homeware that mark France's first foray into furniture design (Dezeen).
The collection draws on France's British and South Asian heritage. Warm oak wood runs throughout, paired with a palette of earthy oranges and greens (Dezeen). A scalloped arch motif — a nod to South Asian archways — recurs across multiple pieces, from a low tea table with the shape etched into its legs to a sculptural wood-framed mirror called the Rayan (Castlery).
The range covers a broad spread of the home. It includes a modular Kagan sofa, an egg-like accent chair, an Anika table lamp in bright colour, and side tables informed by traditional wood turning (Dezeen). There are also decorative vases — among them the Reya ceramic vase, whose flowing curves take inspiration from the drape of a sari (Castlery) — plus wool rugs and the Anaya low-profile tea table, which reimagines the coffee table on chunky pillar legs with carved details (Castlery). Castlery's product pages also list washable sofas and extendable dining tables as part of the line (Castlery).
France did not start from a blank sketchbook. The pieces are based on custom furniture he designed for his own home (Dezeen). Castlery describes the result as a reimagining of heritage design through what it calls a "modern transitional lens" (Castlery).
The brand's US arm promoted the launch with the tagline: "A collection inspired by @tanfrance's heritage, shaped for modern homes and designed to help you live more true to yourself" (Castlery US, Instagram, 31 July 2026). France announced the 6 August launch date on his own Instagram account (Instagram). Castlery US invited customers to view the collection at its New York City showroom at 120 West 18th Street, with a special in-store celebration scheduled for 8 August from 11:30 am (Castlery).
For fans of France's television work, the collection offers a glimpse of his design instincts beyond clothing. And it may not be the last word from him in this space: France told Dezeen he would like to next design bedroom furniture and tableware for Castlery (Dezeen).
Whether that expansion happens will depend on how the debut performs. For now, the 18 pieces are available to shop through Castlery's US and Singapore channels.
