The next extended look at Grand Theft Auto VI will debut on Netflix before anywhere else, with a six-hour exclusivity window that marks a first-of-its-kind reveal for a video game. Take-Two Interactive, the New York-based publisher behind the Grand Theft Auto series, announced the arrangement during its fiscal first-quarter 2027 earnings call on August 7, 2026. CEO Strauss Zelnick described the Netflix deal as "a groundbreaking partnership that Rockstar arranged with our friends at Netflix," calling the streaming platform "a close partner of the company" and "a great marketing partner." He said Take-Two is "really excited" about how the partnership will unfold but declined to comment on the financial terms. Netflix is only one piece of a much wider campaign. Zelnick told analysts the company is working "with virtually every social media outlet on Earth" to market GTA 6, a phrase that captures the scale of what is widely expected to be one of the biggest entertainment releases of its generation. The earnings call itself covered Take-Two's fiscal first-quarter 2027 results, reported August 7. The company had projected quarterly Net Bookings — a non-GAAP measure of digital and physical sales including online transactions — of US$1.32 billion to US$1.37 billion, down from US$1.42 billion in the same period a year earlier. Its broader fiscal 2027 outlook, first issued on May 21, projected Net Bookings between US$8.0 billion and US$8.2 billion for the full year. Take-Two's stock, traded on NASDAQ under the ticker TTWO, sat at US$235.25 on the morning of August 7. Take-Two Investor Relations

The Netflix reveal is notable simply because it has not been done before in the games industry. Film and television premieres have used streaming-exclusivity windows for years; a video game trailer landing on a subscription streaming service first is new territory. It also deepens a relationship between Take-Two and Netflix that already extends beyond marketing — the companies have collaborated on Netflix-branded mobile projects through Zynga, Take-Two's mobile division.

For fans, the August 27 date is now the next concrete checkpoint in GTA 6's long rollout. What they see during that six-hour Netflix window will presumably spread to every other platform shortly after — fitting, given Zelnick's description of a campaign spanning "virtually every social media outlet on Earth."
