Jaissle Era Begins: Newcastle's Youth Revolution Wins in Valencia

The club also paid tribute this summer to Kevin Keegan — nine trophies across a decorated career including the 1978/79 Bundesliga with Hamburger SV and the 1992/93 First Division title — who passed at the age of 75 (Newcastle United).
For fans, the Valencia friendly offered a flavour of what Jaissle wants his team to look like: fearless, youthful, willing to trust players who would barely have featured under the old regime. The early signs are promising. The obvious catch is that the squad still lacks experience — Newcastle are actively seeking reinforcements in midfield, and a pre-season friendly at the Mestalla is a very different stage from a Premier League Friday night (BBC Sport).
Jaissle is due to be formally unveiled at St James' Park in the coming week. By then, the transfer window's final days will be closing in. More arrivals would help. For now, the new man has his first win, his first trophy, and a dressing room full of players young enough to grow with him.
