Doom and Doom 2 Get Native Evercade Ports with Exclusive Modifiers in October Cartridge

Blaze Entertainment is bringing Doom and Doom 2 to its Evercade retro-handheld platform as native ports on a single cartridge, with eight campaigns and a set of gameplay modifiers found only on Evercade. The Doom Collection launches on October 30, 2026, playable across every Evercade and HyperMegaTech Super Pocket device the company has released — including the upcoming Evercade Nexus handheld (VGC, 9 August 2026).
The cartridge packs more than the two base games. Players get six additional map expansions built on top of Doom and Doom 2, bringing the total to eight separate campaigns. The full lineup includes Doom, Doom 2, TNT: Evilution, The Plutonia Experiment, Master Levels for Doom II, No Rest for the Living, SIGIL, and SIGIL II. A Deathmatch Pack adds multiplayer maps designed for local competitive play — split-screen on a couch, not online matchmaking (VGC, 9 August 2026).
What makes the collection distinct from the many, many platforms Doom has already appeared on is its set of Evercade-exclusive gameplay modifiers. These are toggle-on twists layered over the original campaigns: Turbo Monsters speeds up enemies, Double Monsters doubles their count, Explosive Deaths makes demons detonate when killed, Revenge Barrels turns barrels into boomerangs of sorts, Vampire Mode rewards kills with health, and No Monsters strips enemies out entirely for players who want to explore the maps as virtual sightseers.
New violence settings let players crank up the blood or apply themed modifiers like "Shotgun Close Encounter" and "Chainsaw Massacre," the latter presumably doing what it says on the tin.
Evercade first teased a Doom partnership in February 2026 with a splash page promising the franchise would arrive sometime this year (Evercade, 4 February 2026). The company followed up with an official press release on 6 August confirming the cartridge and revealing a Limited Edition Evercade Nexus Doom Edition — a themed version of the forthcoming Nexus handheld (Evercade, 6 August 2026).
For anyone unfamiliar, Evercade is a line of cartridge-based retro handhelds made by Blaze Entertainment. The hook: games ship on physical cartridges you slot in, rather than downloading from a digital store. The platform has built a catalogue around licensed retro compilations, but native ports of original Doom engine games — written to run directly on Evercade hardware, not emulated — are a step up in technical ambition for the brand.
October 30 is the date to mark. Whether you are a lapsed demon hunter or someone who has never held an Evercade, the pitch is straightforward: the first two Doom games, six expansion campaigns, local multiplayer, and a stack of modifiers that did not exist before — all on one cartridge.
