Revolut Is Requiring Interns to Work in the Office at Least 3 Days a Week

Revolut, a financial technology company, is requiring its interns and recent graduates to work from the office at least three days per week. This applies to its Rev-celerator internship program globally, and to specific 2027 internship positions like Strategy & Operations Manager and Product Owner (Technical), depending on the role and location.
The company is hiring young talent across multiple countries. Revolut is recruiting interns and graduates in Poland, Portugal, Spain, the UAE, and the UK. Its Rev-celerator program—a 10-week training course aimed at students in their second-to-last year of university—runs in Ireland, India, and Brazil. The 2027 Software Engineer (Python) internship will open applications in May 2026, with hiring continuing through December 2026 and the program starting in June or July 2027.
The three-day office requirement appears in Revolut's job postings and program descriptions for the US market and in individual 2027 job listings. This consistency suggests the policy is intentional rather than a one-off accident. For a cohort program—where interns learn together and build relationships as a group—requiring in-office time makes practical sense. Interns who rotate through different departments for ten weeks benefit from watching experienced staff work in real time and getting immediate feedback. This is harder to replicate through online check-in calls.
Revolut's graduate program works differently. The 12-month Singapore graduate program emphasizes real-world projects and mentorship from industry professionals. That format assumes interns will be physically close to the people mentoring them. Program materials do not clearly state whether the same three-day requirement applies in Singapore, but the direction of Revolut's early-career hiring is consistent.
Revolut has grown quickly into markets like India, Brazil, and Southeast Asia while building operations in Europe and the Middle East. Its pipeline of early-career hires feeds into product, engineering, and operations teams across all these regions. Setting an in-office requirement now—while the program is still growing—establishes a workplace culture before remote work becomes the default. Once remote defaults take root, it is much harder to reverse course later, as many companies that tried this shift after 2023 learned.
For job candidates, the message is straightforward: Revolut's early-career track is not set up for remote work. Students considering offers from other fintech companies that allow full flexibility will need to weigh that against what Revolut offers in terms of brand reputation, pay, and career growth. In competitive job markets like London, Dublin, and Singapore, whether a company requires office time has become a real factor in whether candidates accept job offers — sometimes in ways that hurt employers.
The timing of this program also matters. Applications for the Software Engineer (Python) internship open in May 2026. The hiring process runs from July through December 2026 for a program that starts in June 2027. This 12-month runway is long, but it is how major fintech and financial services firms compete for early-stage engineering talent. They lock down candidates before those candidates get other offers and before the final-year recruiting push happens.
Whether the in-office requirement helps or hurts Revolut's hiring will depend on where the jobs are. In cities where Revolut's reputation is strong among finance and engineering students—especially in emerging fintech hubs—the office requirement probably will not keep many people from applying. In job markets where candidates have many other options, the outcome is less certain.
