Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios released the first trailer for a new animated series called Avatar: Seven Havens at San Diego Comic-Con on July 24. Paramount+ was named the exclusive home for all Avatar Studios content in December 2025 (Paramount Press Express). Alongside Seven Havens, the platform will also get an animated movie called The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender (working title) (Paramount Press Express).

The broader context here is about business strategy. Paramount Global is using the Avatar franchise to build a collection of animated shows and movies exclusively for its streaming platform, drawing in subscribers with a well-loved series. For the animation industry, the announcement is notable for two reasons. The post-apocalyptic setting is a big tonal shift for a franchise usually known for adventure and balance, and the core audience has traditionally been young.
