Fontaines D.C. Debut Two New Songs 'Marianne' and 'Six Shot Morning' at Cádiz Live Return
Fontaines D.C. debuted two new songs, 'Marianne' and 'Six Shot Morning', during their first live performance of 2026 — a 19-song set at the historic Baluarte de la Candelaria in Cádiz, Spain, on 7–8 August. Billboard first reported the premieres on 10 August, with Stereogum corroborating the following day.
The band announced the Cádiz show on their official social media channels as the start of a new era and the beginning of their 2026 tour activity, according to posts dated 9 August.
The two new tracks carry darker, more electronic elements that build on moments from the band's recent albums 'Skinty Fia' (2022) and 'Romance' (2024), as reported by Billboard. Earlier in 2026, Fontaines D.C. confirmed to NME that they were working on new material. Guitarist Carlos O'Connell told the outlet: "been writing, it's been fun."
The Cádiz return comes after a difficult stretch for the band. Their longtime manager Trevor Dietz, whom Fontaines D.C. called their "sixth member," died in June at age 47. The band have not publicly linked the new material to his passing.
Fontaines D.C.'s fourth LP 'Romance' earned two nominations at the 67th Grammy Awards — best rock album and best alternative music performance for the track 'Starburster'. No release date or title has been announced for whatever the new songs belong to.
The band's summer 2026 run of shows builds toward headline performances at Reading & Leeds Festival on 28–29 August and Ireland's Electric Picnic on 30 August. Those dates will give the new songs their largest UK and Irish audiences so far.
For fans, the Cádiz premieres are the first concrete sign of where Fontaines D.C. are headed next — darker, more electronic, and still very much in progress.
