Rod Stewart Postpones Cincinnati Concert After Minor Medical Procedure

Rod Stewart's concert at Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, set for Sunday, Aug. 9, has been postponed after what the venue described as a minor medical procedure that required prompt attention.

Riverbend Music Center posted a statement confirming the postponement and said that Stewart, 81, is expected to make a quick recovery and looks forward to returning to Cincinnati. Rescheduling is underway, with further details due Tuesday, Aug. 11. Previously purchased tickets will be honoured for the new date. Billboard

The Cincinnati show was part of Stewart's "One Last Time" tour, a farewell run billed as his last large-scale outing. Singer-songwriter Richard Marx was scheduled as the opening act. Stewart first floated the idea in May that the tour could mark the end of his stadium-and-arena days.

This is not the first disruption on the route. On June 19, Stewart paused mid-show at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre in West Valley City after nearly fainting; he used an oxygen tank to help his breathing before continuing. Earlier in June, he cancelled a San Diego date citing an acute upper respiratory infection that caused laryngitis, and was photographed the same day at the Scotland World Cup match in Boston.

Stewart's next scheduled date is Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, according to his official website. Further August dates include an Aug. 15 stop at Morton Amphitheatre, with additional shows listed through September.

For ticket holders, the instruction is straightforward: hold on to the tickets. The venue has confirmed they will be valid for the rescheduled show, and no rebooking is needed until the new date is announced.
