Count Nikolai of Monpezat flew into Copenhagen Fashion Week with one job: front-row support for his girlfriend, model Benedikte Thoustrup. "First and foremost, I'm here to support her," he told reporters on arrival in downtown Copenhagen Hello!.

Thoustrup, 25, walked the runway for Danish womenswear brand MKDT Studio at its Spring/Summer 2027 show on 4 August, during the fashion week running 3–7 August Hello!. Nikolai, 24, was there to watch Hola.

The couple have been dating since 2018, having met as students at Herlufsholm Boarding School in Denmark. Both have since built careers in fashion — and their paths through the industry keep crossing at its biggest weeks.

Nikolai made history in 2018 as the first Danish royal to pursue modelling professionally and walk a major runway. That year he signed with Copenhagen's Scoop Models agency and made his high-fashion catwalk debut at London Fashion Week, walking for Burberry. He has since walked for luxury brands including Dior at Paris Fashion Week Hello!.

Thoustrup's own runway career began at Copenhagen Fashion Week in 2024, when she debuted in the OpéraSPORT show staged alongside Copenhagen's famous harbour Nine.com.au. The following year, she joined Nikolai in Sydney for Australian Fashion Week, attending the Carla Zampatti show on 12 May 2025 and sitting front row at Aje two days later Hello!.

Back in Copenhagen this month, Nikolai's appearance drew attention for its warmth — a rare public display of affection from a royal who generally keeps his personal life out of the spotlight Hola. His title, Count of Monpezat, comes from the Danish royal house: he is the eldest son of Prince Joachim of Denmark and grandson of Queen Margrethe II, who abdicated in January 2024.

For now, the couple's next shared fashion week is likely to be Copenhagen's own Autumn/Winter 2026 edition, scheduled for 27–30 January Copenhagen Fashion Week. Whether Thoustrup walks and Nikolai watches, or both take the catwalk, the pattern is familiar: two careers that began the same year at the same school, still running on parallel tracks.
