Spider-Man: Brand New Day Sends Tame Impala and Steve Lacy Songs Back to the Charts

Two songs featured in Spider-Man: Brand New Day have landed on the Billboard Hot 100, powered by a streaming surge that followed the film's theatrical premiere on 31 July. Tame Impala's 'Loser' re-entered the chart at No. 46 and Steve Lacy's 'Oh Yeah?' debuted at No. 54 on the Hot 100 dated 15 August 2026, according to Billboard Billboard.
The numbers behind those placements tell the story. In the week ending 6 August, 'Loser' earned 6.3 million chart-eligible streams in the United States — a 1,155% jump from the 504,000 it logged in the previous tracking frame of 24–30 July, according to Luminate, the data firm that supplies Billboard's charts. The song also picked up 369,000 radio audience impressions and sold 1,000 downloads. Steve Lacy's 'Oh Yeah?' drew 5.9 million streams in the same week, up 267% from 1.6 million in the earlier frame Billboard.
Both tracks had modest chart histories before the film intervened. 'Loser' first appeared on the Hot 100 at No. 91 on the 1 November 2025 chart, coinciding with the release of its parent album Deadbeat. It now sits at a new peak. 'Oh Yeah?', the title track from Lacy's third studio album, missed the Hot 100 entirely on its initial release but reached No. 36 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart dated 1 August before graduating to the main Hot 100 this week Billboard.
On the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart dated 15 August, 'Loser' ranked No. 7 and 'Oh Yeah?' sat at No. 10. Tame Impala also entered the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for the first time, with 'Loser' placing at No. 66 Billboard.
The Spider-Man effect rippled beyond those two artists. Bad Bunny's 'EOO' re-entered the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart at No. 2 after a 48% stream increase lifted it from 3.4 million to 5 million. The song also moved from No. 120 to No. 61 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart. Mrs. Green Apple's 'Brand New' returned to that same global tally at No. 163 with 7.2 million streams — up 14% — and 3,000 downloads Billboard.
Tame Impala is the musical project of Kevin Parker, the Australian multi-instrumentalist and producer. Spider-Man: Brand New Day, produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad and Rachel O'Connor, stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal and Mark Ruffalo, according to Marvel's official film page Marvel.
What makes this stand out is the scale of the lift. A thousand-percent streaming jump is rare for a catalogue track with no new single release or remix driving it — just a film placement. When a blockbuster puts a song in front of millions of viewers in a single weekend, the chart impact can be immediate and disproportionate, and this week's Hot 100 is the proof.
