'Verity' Full Trailer Arrives: Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson Star in Colleen Hoover Thriller, in Theatres October 2
Amazon MGM Studios released the full trailer for Verity on August 11, 2026, giving audiences their most complete look yet at the Colleen Hoover adaptation headed to cinemas this autumn (Deadline).
Anne Hathaway plays Verity Crawford, a bestselling novelist who has been unable to speak or walk since an accident. Josh Hartnett plays her husband, Jeremy Crawford, who hires a struggling writer named Lowen Ashleigh — played by Dakota Johnson — to finish Verity's final, unfinished novel. The arrangement pulls Lowen into the Crawfords' home and into a mystery that the trailer hints will not stay buried (Deadline).
The film is based on Hoover's 2018 psychological thriller, which became one of her most talked-about novels — a standalone story of gothic suspense separate from her romance catalogues. Michael Showalter directs from a screenplay by Nick Antosca. Showalter and Antosca also produce alongside Alex Hedlund, Stacey Sher, Jordana Mollick, Hathaway herself, and Hoover.
