Saturday Night Live U.K. Returns September 12 with Full Cast and a Bigger Second Season
Saturday Night Live U.K. launches its second season on Sky and Now on 12 September 2026, with six confirmed episodes running through late October and more planned for early 2027 Variety.
Sky confirmed earlier this year that the full second series will span 12 episodes across its autumn 2026 to early 2027 run — six of those now have airdates: 12, 19 and 26 September, then 10, 17 and 24 October Sky Group. A trailer has already been released Variety.
All 11 cast members from the inaugural season are coming back: Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi and Paddy Young Variety. The first season, which premiered on 21 March 2026, ran for eight episodes and featured celebrity hosts including Tina Fey, Jamie Dornan and Riz Ahmed Sky Deadline via Facebook.
As in the American original, each episode pairs a celebrity host with a musical guest. Hosts and musical acts for the new episodes have not yet been announced Variety.
Behind the scenes, Laura Claxton steps up to co-head writer alongside head writer Jonno Johnson. Director Liz Clare returns for the second season, and costume designer Heather MacVean joins the team for the first time. Sinead Oldnall takes charge of onscreen talent bookings Variety.
Lorne Michaels, the creator of the original Saturday Night Live, executive-produces the U.K. version through Broadway Video, with James Longman leading production. The show is produced for Sky and Now by Universal Television Alternative Studio's U.K. arm and Broadway Video. Helen Kruger Bratt heads UTAS U.K. Productions as managing director, Andy Charles Smith produces for the label, Shanna Baynard oversees production and Hannah Peddar serves as production executive Variety.
On the commissioning side, Phil Edgar-Jones, Sky's executive director of unscripted originals, first commissioned the series. Sky's head of comedy commissioning Alex Moody handled the second-season order for Sky Studios CEO and chief content officer Cecile Frot-Coutaz Variety.
