Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats Reunite for New Album 'II'

Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats are back together. The rapper and producer will release their second collaborative album, II, on August 21 via Loma Vista Recordings, as confirmed by both Pitchfork and Stereoboard on August 12.

II is the follow-up to Unlocked, the pair's 2020 collaboration that paired Curry's intensity with Kenny Beats' production. It is their first album together since the producer rebranded as Kenneth Blume III — a name Curry himself used when announcing the project's closing single, "Difference," on his official X account. That post credited the track to "Denzel Curry & Kenneth Blume" and linked to a dedicated release page.

The album spans nine tracks. Guest appearances come from Jpegmafia on "Evil Grin," Westside Gunn on "Crown," and Yebba on "Difference," which serves as both the album closer and its current single. The full tracklist, as reported by Pitchfork: 01 Gone Fishing, 02 Evil Grin (ft. Jpegmafia), 03 Candlelight, 04 Product, 05 UPS, 06 Benjamin, 07 Cold Night in Hell, 08 Crown (ft. Kenny Beats, in a press release quoted by Pitchfork, described the working relationship in plain terms: "The work Denzel and I do has never been easy, which is why it's so rewarding."

Loma Vista, the label handling the release, has a history with both artists. The label's online store still carries UNLOCKED limited-edition vinyl figures — two sculpted collectibles by Tomohiro Yasui, one of Kenny Beats and one of Curry — from the first collaboration. The label's homepage currently lists Denzel Curry's solo King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2 as a featured release, and does not yet surface II in site search results, consistent with a release still nine days out.

For fans, the reunion is straightforward: Curry and Kenny Beats made one of the more talked-about rap collaborations of 2020, and now there is a second one. Jpegmafia, Westside Gunn, and Yebba each bring a distinct lane to the guest spots. With the single "Difference" already out, the August 21 release date is the next marker.
