Hermès Heads to Tampa: The Paris Luxury House Signs On for a Two-Storey Boutique at Hyde Park Village

Hermès, the Paris-based luxury house known for its leather goods and silk scarves, has signed a lease for an 8,030-square-foot boutique at Hyde Park Village in Tampa, Florida. The store will span two floors and is expected to open sometime in 2027, according to WWD.
The location sits inside Tampa's historic Hyde Park neighbourhood, in an open-air development that stretches across six city blocks with street-level retail, restaurants and hospitality. Hyde Park Village, owned and operated by WS Development, already houses brands including Alice + Olivia, Zimmermann, Peter Millar, LoveShackFancy and Veronica Beard. Ralph Lauren and Frame are also signed on to join the centre.
Samantha David, president of WS Development, commented on Hermès' arrival, though the specific terms of her remarks were not detailed in the report. The lease itself marks the first Hermès boutique in Tampa, adding to a Florida retail map that already includes locations in Miami and Orlando.
Hermès operates more than 300 stores across 45 countries. The house, founded in 1837 as a harness workshop, has built its retail strategy on slow, selective expansion — opening comparatively few new doors each year rather than chasing volume through rapid store growth. A two-storey, 8,000-plus-square-foot footprint is consistent with the format Hermès uses in secondary US markets, where it combines menswear and womenswear across floors and dedicates space to leather goods, the category that drives the bulk of its revenue.
What gives the Tampa lease its weight is the company it keeps. Hyde Park Village has been steadily adding contemporary and premium brands, and Hermès — which sits at the top end of the luxury market — landing there signals the landlord's ambition to pull the centre upscale. Ralph Lauren and Frame arriving alongside Hermès reinforces that direction.
For Tampa shoppers, the nearest Hermès has until now required a drive to Orlando's Mall at Millenia or a flight to Miami. A local boutique means the house's Birkin and Kelly bags, ready-to-wear collections, perfumes and equestrian-rooted leather goods will be available without leaving the city. Whether demand in the Tampa Bay area sustains a store of this size will become clear once the doors open in 2027.
