Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean will headline the 2026 Global Citizen Festival on Central Park's Great Lawn on Saturday, September 26, 2026, performing an anniversary celebration of the Fugees' second and final album, The Score. The Score, released in 1996, included the Fugees' cover of Roberta Flack's "Killing Me Softly" alongside the singles "Ready or Not" and "Fu-Gee-La." The album became one of the defining hip-hop records of its decade. Hill and Jean last reunited on the Global Citizen stage in 2023, when Jean joined Hill for a surprise performance, according to Global Citizen.
The third Fugees member, Pras Michel, will not be part of the set. Michel has started a 14-year prison sentence following convictions on charges of money laundering, illegal lobbying, and campaign finance violations. The Fugees had previously celebrated the 25th anniversary of The Score in 2021 with plans for a tour that did not take place.
The festival's advocacy campaign this year focuses on three goals: helping more children attend school, supporting farmers in feeding their communities, and providing electricity for millions of people globally.
