Global Citizen Festival 2026: Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean Reunite as TXT, Lainey Wilson Join Central Park Lineup
Global Citizen has announced the lineup for its 2026 festival on Central Park's Great Lawn, set for September 26, with Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, Lenny Kravitz, John Legend, Shaboozey and Lainey Wilson slated to perform. The headline grabber is a reunion: Hill and Wyclef Jean will share a stage to mark the 30th anniversary of the Fugees' 1996 album The Score. The record turned the New Jersey trio into global stars and remains one of the bestselling hip-hop albums of all time. Hill and Jean performing together to celebrate it gives the festival a draw that spans generations of listeners.
For Wilson, the date is a first. The country singer, whose recent albums have topped the Billboard 200 — the chart that ranks the most-consumed albums in the US each week — stated she is performing at the festival for the first time. TOMORROW X TOGETHER, the South Korean group also known as TXT, bring a K-pop audience to a bill that already stretches across country, soul, rock and hip-hop.
Tickets are free, but not simply handed out. Festivalgoers earn points by taking action on the Global Citizen app or at globalcitizenfestival.com — signing petitions, contacting representatives, or completing similar advocacy tasks. Once enough points are accumulated, users can enter a ticket lottery or make a $25 charitable donation to instantly secure entry. (Billboard)
The festival's advocacy goals this year are specific: creating opportunities for two million children to attend school, supporting 1.5 million smallholder farmers, and providing electricity for 2.5 million homes. Donations flow to the City Parks Foundation for youth education and parks programmes across New York City's five boroughs, plus organisations helping people experiencing homelessness in the city. Global Citizen's footprint in 2026 extends well beyond Central Park. The organisation produced the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show, which raised $60 million for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. That event, held on July 19, 2026 at the New York New Jersey Stadium, featured Madonna, Shakira, BTS and Justin Bieber, and aired in the US on Fox and Fox One.
