Christy Knowings, All That Cast Member, Dies at 46 After Asthma Attack

Christy Knowings, who appeared on Nickelodeon's All That in the late 1990s, has died at 46. Her aunt, Tyleah Joseph, confirmed the death on Facebook on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. A cause of death was not disclosed in the family's announcement.

According to TMZ, which cited family sources and was the first outlet to report the death, Knowings suffered an asthma attack on Friday, August 7. The attack left her with brain damage, and she was placed on life support at a Los Angeles-area hospital. Her family decided to remove her from life support on Tuesday, August 11. (Deadline; TMZ)

Knowings joined All That in 1997 after appearing in a Nickelodeon sketch-comedy pilot called And Now This that was not picked up to series. All That, a fast-paced sketch show often described as a kids' version of Saturday Night Live, was a flagship programme for Nickelodeon throughout the decade and beyond. Knowings spent three seasons on the show alongside a cast that included Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell, Danny Tamberelli, Nick Cannon and Amanda Bynes.

Her recurring characters included Jessica in the Whateverrrr!!! sketches, a dental assistant opposite Bynes, and newscaster Brenda Stone. The roles put her in front of a generation of young viewers during one of the network's most watched eras.

After All That, Knowings appeared in several episodes of Sesame Street between 2008 and 2011, alongside her real-life twin brother, Chris Knowings, who had appeared in Spike Lee's 1994 film Crooklyn.

Joseph's Facebook post remembered her niece as "an outstanding actress, comedian, twin sister, an amazing daughter," closing with: "Rest in power Chrissy." (Deadline)

Knowings is the second former All That cast member to die in 2026. Kianna Underwood, who also appeared on the show, was killed in a hit-and-run in Brooklyn in January. The two losses, six months apart, have drawn renewed attention to a cast whose members grew up in public view, on a show that shaped how a generation of children watched television.
