Taylor Swift Praises Phoebe Bridgers' New Album 'Lost Weekend' on Bridgers' Birthday

Taylor Swift has called Phoebe Bridgers' new album Lost Weekend "an absolute triumph" in a social media post celebrating Bridgers' birthday. The post, published on 17 August 2026, came three days after the album's release on Dead Oceans on 14 August — and on the day Bridgers turned 32. Swift's message included the line: "It's her birthday but she gave us a gift." (Variety, The Hollywood Reporter)
Lost Weekend is Bridgers' third studio album, a 16-track record co-produced by Tony Berg, Ethan Gruska and Jack Antonoff, with Antonoff also sharing writing credits on some songs (Rolling Stone). The track list includes 'The Outside', 'Lost Boys', 'Kill Me', 'The Governor's Waltz', 'Bobby' and the title track. The vinyl edition ships with a 24-page, full-colour lyric booklet (Rough Trade).
Bridgers announced the album and opened preorders via her Instagram account on 24 June 2026 (Instagram). Dead Oceans, an independent label based in Bloomington, Indiana, handled the release (Rolling Stone).
The two artists have a documented history together. In 2021, Bridgers appeared on 'Nothing New', a vault track — a previously unreleased song from an original recording session — on Swift's re-recorded album Red (Taylor's Version). The pair performed the song live for the first time in Nashville during Swift's Eras Tour, when Bridgers opened for Swift on the road. The year before, Bridgers delivered the speech presenting Swift with the 2023 Innovators Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, describing how Swift had inspired her from a young age (Rolling Stone).
Antonoff's involvement on Lost Weekend adds another layer to that connection. He has been one of Swift's most frequent collaborators across her last several albums, and his production work with Bridgers places the two artists' creative circles in the same studio again — though on separate projects.
For fans of either artist, Swift's public endorsement of Lost Weekend is the latest signal of a creative friendship that has already produced one released duet and multiple live performances. Bridgers has not yet publicly responded to Swift's post.
