Cynthia Erivo Calls Ariana Grande 'My Favorite Person to Sing With' After O2 Arena Reunion

Cynthia Erivo joined Ariana Grande on stage at London's O2 Arena on August 16, reuniting the two Wicked stars for a pair of duets during the second night of Grande's 10-show Eternal Sunshine tour run.

Together they performed "For Good," the song from the stage musical Wicked that appears in the forthcoming film sequel Wicked: For Good, and a mash-up of "Get Happy/Happy Days Are Here Again" — two standards long associated with Judy Garland. The official Wicked musical YouTube channel posted a video documenting the surprise performance on August 17 Wicked YouTube channel.

The next day, Erivo — a London native — took to Instagram with a carousel of photos and clips. The first image showed the two women sharing a deep hug on stage, and the set included fan-captured footage of the audience's reaction. Erivo called Grande "my favorite person to sing with," thanked her for the invitation, and wrote that the reunion "felt like coming home again" Billboard.

Grande and Erivo play Elphaba and Glinda respectively in the Wicked film adaptations; the first instalment opened in late 2024, and the second, Wicked: For Good, is the film that gives the duet its current context. Grande's O2 residency, part of the Eternal Sunshine tour supporting her 2024 album of the same name, is scheduled to run through September 1 Billboard. The 10-night stand at the 20,000-capacity arena is one of the longest single-venue runs of the tour.
