Miranda Lambert to Open Nashville's New Venue The Truth, Drops Album 'Crisco' Next Day
Miranda Lambert will headline the opening night of The Truth, a new Live Nation venue in Nashville's Wedgewood-Houston neighbourhood, on Oct. 1 — and release her new album Crisco the very next day.
The Oct. 1 show, billed as "Miranda Lambert: One Night Only," will feature Lambert's full band alongside a 12-piece string orchestra, according to Live Nation's newsroom. Tickets go on sale Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. local time via thetruthnashville.com.
Lambert, a three-time Grammy winner, also received the keys to the venue ahead of its debut, as she shared on Instagram.
Crisco is scheduled for release on Oct. 2 on MCA, part of Universal Music Group Nashville. Lambert has teased the album with three tracks: "Sunset Marquis," "Til The Going's Gone" and "A Song To Sing," a collaboration with Chris Stapleton, Billboard reported.
The Truth itself is a 4,400-capacity, multiuse venue. It takes its name from a line long attributed to songwriter Harlan Howard, who described country music as "three chords and the truth." Howard, a Country Music Hall of Fame inductee whose writing credits include "Heartaches by the Number" and "I Fall to Pieces," is further honoured inside the building with a whiskey bar bearing his name.
The venue also houses the Vinyl Room, a 300-capacity listening lounge — a smaller, dedicated space within the larger complex designed for intimate performances or playback events.
For Lambert, the booking pairs a major album launch with the opening of a brand-new room in a city already thick with them. Nashville's live landscape has expanded sharply in recent years, and The Truth enters that field with Live Nation's promotional muscle behind it. The Oct. 1 concert gives Lambert a stage to debut material from Crisco in a venue still smelling of fresh paint, with a string section that promises something beyond the standard country-band setup.
Fans will need to move quickly. With a 4,400-room capacity and Lambert's drawing power, the opening-night tickets are likely to be in tight supply. The on-sale falls on a Thursday morning.
